The wandering might not be tied to that directly but too many people are wandering already (Jaina) and he COULD find something that will cause her even more problems (literally anything on god’s isle) and a baby would distract him. Also if the whole broody Heathcliff thing is such a hit with viewers the LAST thing she needs right now is to end up having to murder him.
