Lightning Age: Infiltrator Information.

If you want to play an Infiltrator who knows that Travelers exist, please comment and plot below and we'll work out what you know, why you know it, and what you have planned.

If you are an Investigator, please do not read the comments.

Ambrus Edvard, nephew of the emperor and general representative of the Empire, was likely present in some capacity.

Query re: all this- should we be coordinating between each other? An if so, should that just be the people who got the long-explanation or everyone?

...can Ambrus give out invitations to the ~Tunguskan Amabssador's Ball~ and we end up with a wacky confrontation and shenanigans?

At least the long-explanation folks, but you can bring in whoever you like.

And that sounds amazing, just let me know when you want to hold the ball, :-p

TENTATIVE idea of first weekend in October, after Michaelmas but before the Thunderstorm.

Aaaand at this point should I drop some deets OOCly to gather folks up? I've only managed to get two potential marks but other investigators might want to get caught up in these shenanigans.

Still working out the backstory details, but Souji would have been there for this.

Not sure how *much* Claudia would know, but given that she was in Joseon at the time she would've checked out the diplomatic stop if at all possible around her other work.

Levi makes it his business to know things and would definitely be aware of the 'foreigners' who showed up that one time.

He'll be infiltrating as a pirate / bounty hunter type dude who has ~contacts, so anything that someone in that line of work would know is what I'm interested in!

As with Souji, still working out details, but also would have been there

Sabetha (operating at the time under the identity of Galina Belova, heiress and socialite) would have been present aboard the Zeitgeist.

Quick question: would the current Investigators who were present on the previous Jaunt be recognizable to the Infiltrators who were on the Zeitgeist, or are they protected by an SEP field?

They'd be recognizable.

Noriko, while (likely) not on the ship, would have been around when it got to Uchinaa.

since i didn't realize I was allowed to look at this (lol whoops), Phillip would not have been present but, living in Nova Venezia, he would definitely have been listening out for anything interesting/suspicious (and he NEVER FORGETS he's like an elephant in that way).

He'd know there were assassins ans strange foreigners on the voyage, but other rumors wouldn't have made it this far - unless his dad specifically told him more

So at first I was "err on the side of not knowing" but now I'm not so sure! (an alias got asked a pointed question about it in a thread, so!)

So this is what I've set up for Grisha/The Wolf:
-mostly based out of Nova Venezia in the last decade
-heads a spy network there that potentially extends much farther (this being Wolves' Children he's personally broken out of the colony primarily, but he'd have some contacts other places, especially in Chakravartin Raj)
-very long term (we're talking 2 decades plus) involvement with Wolves' Children and the penal colony, along with many visits (although, I have no idea how much contact/coordination different groups have)
-his only "loyalties" besides the kids who he's personally taken in is the Wolves' Children and Monomotapa, and the last is the lesser of the two, really

So I'm not sure how deeply involved he would have been (if directly involved at all), but what he knows (or doesn't) would drastically change his response to the question, so, modly ideas/guidance?

The voyage of the Zeitgeist was plagued with assassins - hashashin, Raj murder-proxies, ninja... some seeking to kill delegates, others to crash the airship. In the end, the source was discovered to be a group of Wolves' Children using brainwashing, blackmail, and theft to motivate the assassins, hoping to stir up an incident which would plunge Prussia into war.

He'd know ALL about the assassination plot, but probably be baffled as to the identity of the people who thwarted it. Up to you if he was involved in plotting the mission or not.

The group of paranoid people who allegedly witnessed invaders from another world has been looking for them all year; asking suspicious strangers nonsense questions (what they think of the Emperor’s heir (he doesn’t have one), if they heard about the Tunguskan ambassador’s ball (ha ha ha right), how long they think the Carthaginian Peace Accords will last (pigs will fly first)), and so on.

Oh, I guess it was okay for me to look at this after all. While he wouldn't have been present on the voyage, Near would have been living in Nova Venezia at this time and he is always keeping his ears open for suspicious news. And he doesn't forget things. But I'm iffy on whether he would have been in contact with any Crypyocathic agents who were in the area at the time yet.

... Though being a Cryptocatholic agent himself, I assume he'd have access to at least some portions of the Vatican library. It's very possible the rumours could have made him curious enough to look things up in the archives, if he was allowed. And presuming he could slip out of the city briefly.

However, the cause of this plague of assassins was discovered - and the finals waves stopped - by a mysterious group of people, aides to the delegations, passengers who won tickets by lottery, and airship staff - who used mysterious technologies, some seeming to be magic; who could appear and disappear at will and who could communicate instantaneously, presumably by means of concealed radios. They all vanished from aboard before the Zeitgeist came back to dock. Certain things they said made it sound as if they came from another world... including their utter and universal ignorance of history, geography, and current events.

The Catholic records will record everything about the Zeitgeist's voyage, but won't have taken the paranoid theory of otherworldly intruders seriously.
