ACTIVITY POLICY.
SYNODIPORIA ACTIVITY POLICIES Synodiporia's activity will operate by a monthly self-reporting system. Since we're intended to be a medium-paced game, standard monthly activity will consist of: ● A total of thirty comments in two or more comment threads. At least one thread must have been started within the current activity period. Comments made within the current activity period on threads started within the last sixty days are also acceptable. As a general rule, new comments on threads that were started before the previous jaunt (the Liminal Space mingle immediately before a jaunt counts 'with' that jaunt) are not accepted for AC count. In order to acquire one skill in an AC period, characters will need: ● A total of forty-five comments in three or more comment threads. In order to acquire two skills in an AC period, we require: ● A total of sixty comments in three or more comment threads, and one of the following: For jaunt skills, at least one thread must mention the character's interest in or practice of the skill in question. For more on acquiring skills, see the Acquiring Skills page, as well as Skills 101. If you are not able to make activity in a given month, you will be allowed to report a hiatus status for up to one month. However, you will still need to report to the activity document with the word ❝ hiatus ❞ in place of links to your threads. IDLING Hiatusing two months in a row, or failing to respond within the AC window (generally the 24th to the 30th or 31st), will result in your character being idled. When your character is idled, the mods will contact you to ask if you are interested in dropping, reclaiming, or remaining idle. If you drop, the result is the same as dropping at any game. If you remain idle, your character is misplaced in the next jaunt between settings, passing through a Dungeon Portal. Idle characters who are lost in dungeon realms cannot interact with any other characters, and their character does not count towards cast limits or whether a new player may app that character. However, an idled character who is apped by a new player may be asked to app as an AU version, if the mods believe the original player is likely to reclaim. RECLAIMING If you wish to reclaim an idled or dropped character at any time, you may do so by setting up a dungeon rescue. In a dungeon rescue, two or more other characters venture into the pocket dimension your character is trapped in, and lead them back to the correct portal to rejoin their fellow travellers. We advise a soft limit of four rescuers, as larger groups have a strong tendency to bog down in longer group threads, preventing a timely rescue. A dungeon rescue can be finished at any point after the idled character has reached monthly AC (thirty comments spread across two or more threads) within the dungeon. Dungeon rescues are intended to be fun, dynamic mini-events, and the mods will be more than happy to help you set them up. Both in-character and out-of-character, they serve an important purpose. They refresh old CR or encourage new CR between the idle character and the rescue party, and they demonstrate to the mod team that player and character are once again up to the task of making activity within the game. Also, they're cool. Provided that nobody apps an idled character from the same version/universe, a character may remain idle indefinitely. We recognize that this policy is a little weird, and it raises a few questions. Those will be covered in depth at the Frequently Asked Questions. If there's still any confusion, don't be afraid to ask questions or request clarifications in the comments below. |
