That it works is both a relief and an experience as he bears witness to all the information guarded from him behind the barrier. Or perhaps guarding him from it. Near is confident in his intellect and his ability to process information, and while he has an arrogant streak, it isn't enough of one that he thinks it impossible for his mind to be overwhelmed.

He feels the confirmation, and is satisfied with it. Those had been the more minor concerns. There are other questions to ask, and he is almost as curious as to what form the answers will take and whether he will be able to parse them as he is about the answers themselves.
