Towards the very end of the Yensid Return Liminal, Death is being bugged. A lot. Malin is sitting in a calm spot of Liminal space, Maria next to her, and doing her best to call her Arcanum through her mark, as awkward as it is to concentrate on the back of your legs this much.

But it's her best guess, considering that she doesn't seem to be able to open a portal into the space where she first met Death.

At least she has experienced the pull of her mark before, back on the Jaunt, so now she's doing her best to do the reverse and pull him towards her.
