The very first thing Bayek tries to do when he winds up in an unfamiliar space suddenly is leave. When the portal fails, he takes a second or two to calm the distressed eagle who got brought in with him and is very much not liking the lack of a sky to fly in. Once she's settled on the back of one of the chairs, wings mantled but no longer vocalizing her distress, the khopesh comes out. Bayek's expression is resolute, but grim, and his knuckles are white on the hilt of the sword.
