Paramo Riconquista: Plot Role Info
If you are not a plot infiltrator or someone with IC reasons to share knowledge available to plot infiltrators, please do not read the comments of this post.
If you ARE a plot infiltrator, please comment under your toplevel to let us know you've read it; please also pop over here to announce your plotroleishness to the game at large. Xunhuo Captain - Alcuin
Thread Expectation: three threads / fifteen comments per mingle
Check-In Expectation: anything that touches off your paranoia; anything in which you must be the adult in the room for your team; anything which makes you question your loyalty.
Privileged Information: Your capability with explosives makes you absolutely fearless in naval pursuit or coastal raiding - no chase gun or shore battery will ever succeed in aiming at you before you touch it off. However, in a pitched naval battle, when faced with a full broadside, your ability to make one gun at a time misfire is pitiful. If you must, you can probably start this war without any explosives your enemy did not bring with them, but the danger in such a course is much greater, and you are not a fanatic.
Outlook: Practical and paranoid, utilitarian, cautious and resourceful. You believe in always being on the winning side and not taking any risk which does not carry a greater reward. You are not, however, the sort to freeze or hesitate in high-risk situations; you choose the most profitable or survivable path visible swiftly.
Goals: recover your cargo and sabotage the fleet; failing that, spark a war that brings the Paramoese down on the Bando by any means available.
Skill: Fire At Will. You have a small gift in Fire Elementalism, but it has been trained to a very specific end. You are capable of causing any gunpowder-based weapon or explosive within your line of sight to discharge at any time you choose. You may not use this ability to prevent a weapon being fired, or on multiple weapons simultaneously, but you may use it to fire a weapon prematurely, before it is aimed, or to touch off a store of ammunition not yet loaded. No gunpowder-based weapon or explosive is considered too wet to fire, even if it is underwater.
Re: Xunhuo Captain - Alcuin
The idea is to sabotage the Paranoese fleet? Preferably with subtlety?

I figure we should probably be on the same page with regard to this guy's place on the crew! Merbro's training with the Akuryu is known, and also that he's supposedly better than the Akuryu in some regards. His competence with disguises and silencing noises are probably the most valuable aspects of his magic for this mission that the Captain is aware of.
Part of his demands for being sent on this voyage was probably to be allocated a few full barrels of saltwater for his own private and personal use because somethingsomething mysterious magic reasons. Are there any ground rules or base instructions the Captain will have already given him by the start of the Jaunt?

which I had not done yet, which is why I didn't realize it literally wasn't his name omg please feel free to delete those comments on your plurk
The Captain is deeply confused by (and thus paranoid about) those barrels of water. Like. Dude. We are on the open sea. The entire ocean is salt water. Why not just dip out what you need as we go, you loony. But Merbro's been assigned to him for a reason, and with some begrudging grumbling, there will be salt water barrels. It just doesn't make any sense.
He needs to be able to reach you quickly and quietly, and you need to be ready to silence explosions or alarm as quickly as possible. He would appreciate your assistance in reining in Harusassin. (but he doesn't actually expect you to do so.) You'll be one of the primary ways that information will be gathered if we don't get more spies.
AND UNFORTUNATELY he would really like your assistance finding the TRAITOROUS SCUM who switched our cargo!! /sad trombone

Merbrothe now-named Lian won't fuss about his directions. It'd probably be better if he did fuss, because then the Captain would know if he actually intends on following those directions or not -- but for the most part Lian probably just stares at the Captain as he talks. It's not that he hates you, he's just tired from holding a human form for so long. The only commitment he'll give for keeping Harusassin in line is a blink. Take it as you will, Cap'n.He will be quick to act when needed, though. He's perhaps a little alarmingly fast and skilled at silencing noises, as well as cloaking people in shadows to hide them.
Do we know who did switch the cargo?
Was it Lian? I have a lot of info pages open right now and it's hard to keep track of them ahahahahahahano subject

Re: Xunhuo Captain - Alcuin
He's considering getting his explosive experts to add fuses to the explosives that they have and finding a way to fasten the deepsea mines to the hulls of the Paramoese naval vessels so that he can see them through a spyglass to make them explode in the mouth of the harbor, blocking vessels from coming or going.

lian didn't want this either, captainRe: Xunhuo Captain - Alcuin
I know Eren is making shaped barrel charges.
I know Thace attempted to sneak on board and narrowly evaded notice.
I know Thorne scared him into deeper paranoia by showing up at the ship.
And I know that the ship was moved to the outside of the crescent arms.
