1) Am I correct in assuming that Allura wasn't on Mars when shit went down, or was she just separated from her Consort in the fighting?

2) Can I have a brief run-down of what's solid Jaunt-canon about the Consort, and what I have freedom to come up with?

1) H.I.H. Princess* Allura was evacuated early in the fighting (for obvious strategic and morale reasons) and got separated from the Consort.

2) She was married to the consort, it was absolutely arranged and political and she loved them, and they're blue-skinned space elf nobility from a planet that wasn't the throneworld. Other than that, go nuts!

*Your choice whether to go by "Princess" or "Princeps," by the by; the second is the gender neutral term.

As much as I'd like to commit to the gender neutral title, I know no one's going to remember it since it's one letter off from her actual out-of-Jaunt title, so I'm just gonna surrender to the "Princess" in advance.

I am deeply committed to sticking with the trend of Allura's plot role lovers being women, though, so her Consort is definitely a wife. I'm sure the aliens who have bioships would also have the biotech to render the issue of heirs negligible.

So, what's the Emperor like as a ruler?

And the general Imperial approach to combat, conquest, and dealing with independent powers?

Tl;dr: “Being part of the Empire is awesome, and if you disagree we’ll persuade you otherwise, hopefully without using an Ambassador-class frigate.”

Think Alexander the Great: whenever possible as a matter of policy they try to absorb client states peacefully and respecting every part of the local culture except the ones that resist Imperial rule.. Contented subjects are loyal Imperial citizens; no point antagonizing the Xuil temple just cause they mispronounce the names of the gods. They maintain peaceful trade instead of war with many of their neighbors, but quickly retaliate against any transgressions.

The current Emperor who you are free to name Coran or other canonically resonant names Is as benevolent as his position allows, and beloved of the people.

Excellent, so Allura is in line with general Imperial policy for the most part, if perhaps slightly less aggressive in retaliation than the norm Because Reasons.

I'm tempted to name him Alfor, tbh.
