Okay so! Re: Delaunay and his support of Qabil's bullshit, I feel like he's probably v much in favor of reestablishing the Protectorate under Ghalib since he's the rightful heir and that does matter, maybe more into it being Ghalib or Ghalib's eventual niece or nephew to do that uniting than any other leader. (I figure he knows about Ghalib because Cabalists are all up in each other's business.) But like, he'd also be in favor of Qabil molding Ghalib into being the Right kind of god-king.
