Actually, given that Archetype, yeah, that makes sense.

Alright! This is going to be great!

Kenzaki's big moment of dramatic turnover that I've got in mind is set to be the aftermath of his three other dreamer friends following the advice of their Spirit Companions and winding up heroically sacrificing themselves. He takes this poorly and that sets the whole thing off.

He's going to be hitting up every adversary that he can. And he's going to be fascinated that there are more and more people like him in the future. It's just going to make him dig his heels in on it all. Meanwhile, his Spirit Companion is going to be panicking, and doing his best to send nice reasonable Champions and Oracles in his direction to try and talk him down/befriend him/give him a hug, surely a hug will fix this.

(One thing: the plot skill should probably be spelled "Cri De Coeur", Coeur being the correct spelling of heart in French.)

More flexibility!

It's also notable that it's fairly unique for being an item that exists in both Questing Country and the Known Worlds and has very similar functionality in both.

I figured that was probably unusual. Does it have precedent? Or should I be flagging it as 'this isn't something that's happened before' for anyone who does encounter it both in and out of dreams during the Jaunt?

She would not be aware of it happening before! Whether various Oracle-senpai may have is a different story.

So wrong account but I've got a half-done tag in another tab and questions!

At the end of last QC Jaunt, Lupa had done a reading of Questing Country's Will, and gotten a vision: A fish with a hook in its mouth, surging and fighting against a line, a bull on sands stuck full of barbed bone javelins in his shoulders, and a wyvern pulling a kite made out of a wyvern's wing along behind it. At the time, I assumed (and Lupa assumed) that this was mostly about the big plot, but now it could easily be a clue towards Travelers, perhaps?

Also, he's read the Will of Questing Country at least once since, so what might he have discovered from subsequent readings?

It certainly may have been a hint about Travelers!

-in subsequent readings, Questing Country's Will has mostly read like a starlit sky on a warm summer night, every star looking enticing and full of possibility, or another metaphor that implies benevolence and possibility but no unified direction - everyone in QC can chase their own dreams!

-when Fintan went into Retrograde, Questing Country's Will became as garbled and indecipherable as the Spirit Companions themselves.

First Question!

[personal profile] lunchleader 2018-01-16 12:41 am (UTC)(link)
How did the Oracles not of the Double Valence era figure out what the Travelers are? Were they informed by Lupa and his group about them?

They analyzed the patterns in dreams left behind by the Travelers - Oracle knowledge, PLUS whatever Lupa could tell them!

Excellent! Thanks

Second Question!

[personal profile] lunchleader 2018-01-17 01:59 am (UTC)(link)
How long as the Starquake era been dealing with portions of their Questing Country turning into fire/light or cold/static? Just a few months or a full earth year?

Same question regarding the complete vanishing of floating continents, per the Jaunt info in the main OOC info post.

About two and a half months at the outside!

Question for you all... how often do Retrograde-type events, timeline convergences, happen? Would anyone in any of the timelines remember another one happening, or would there be something the Oracle of Age could "know" about it, them being time-related? (And, for that matter, are they all time related, or could there be space-related or character-related events as well?)
whatspringislike: (Default)

[personal profile] whatspringislike 2018-01-18 05:39 pm (UTC)(link)

There are absolutely non-time Retrograde events. There's maybe one such event every decade or three. Some relate to communication, others to self-image, others to the power of emotion - we intended for there to be ten to thirteen different possible types, but since it was background information, we didn't actually make a list of all of them. basically: every 'constant' feature of Questing Country occasionally becomes inconstant, and time is only one such feature.

Week 1 check in

[personal profile] reallymean 2018-01-22 01:06 am (UTC)(link)
Allura's spent most of Week 1 meeting people from the various other timelines and attempting to get a sense of who might be able and/or willing to help the rebels' cause. She's asked Phillip to bring a request for aid to the other Travelers, and is attempting to get some information on the future out of Ringabel and information on future explosives tech from Malik; other threads are still in early stages.

For Week 2, she's probably going to continue sounding out potential allies or sources of information, and trying to work out whether the magic that allows the Travelers to zip around between universes might allow them to, say, move directly from Questing Country into her waking world.

Speaking of the waking world, how large are the weapon-foundries? What sort of weapons do they forge, aside from the obvious gravity weapons? How tight is security, and oversight of the slaves? I'm thinking that in the waking world, she's working on a plan to either sieze or cripple one or more of them, but I'm not sure what's really feasible in that regard.
