Lupa's familiar is usually a very helpful sort, and they also talk to him constantly filling in all the visual information he misses. They tend to pluralize things, as ones do with three heads. So, two things: Does the garbling extend to all communication? And! I would love a garbled message.

As for plans, Lupa is going to start by seeing if he can calm as many familiars as he can down with his plot skill, as they're stated to get all panicky. He'll be looking for those with Archetypes revolving around communication and seeing if they can't sort this out together. He may also read his own will while he focuses on the problem to see if he gets any hints (sometimes this works, sometimes it doesn't. Sometimes it gives him something completely different because his deeper desires run elsewhere)

Bayek's Senu has just learned how to communicate with Bayek, so she'll be especially distressed at the garbling, but she'll definitely try to communicate a thing!

Also, also! I notice that Adversaries are specifically not mentioned, so will there be any changes at all in an Adversary's Spirit Companion?

Adversaries' Companions will be unaffected when they're doing their Doppleganger thing to mess with their partner, but will be affected as the others are when they're trying to be helpful.

It does extend to all communication.

The three heads will be arguing. "We're the same!" "We're different!" "We're not here!"
