Studio Assistant (Armin)

You know the studio is going under, but you are at a loss as to what to do or how or why. You have been working on a screenplay of your own (of any genre) for months, but you are too intimidated by Producer to actually pitch it. There is absolutely a blockbuster in what you have written, possibly what can save the studio, but you do not know how to get Producer to listen. They never do.

Skill: Every Movie’s a Circus - Every production needs someone to keep track of the nuts and bolts, the finances, the appointments, the schedules. That person is you, and this skill allows you to do that without any of the fancy modern-day conveniences we take for granted. You can juggle multiple complicated schedules with ease and handle the sorts of finances one might expect to see on a movie production.

Anything to report from week 1/plans for week 2/juicy (possibly false) rumors you'd ike to spread about your character?

Nothing yet, no - off to a slow start because I didn't consider how much traveling I was going to be doing around the beginning of the jaunt, but I should be able to really get going this weekend.

Not much to report for week 2, still working through the threads, but plans for week 3 include Armin trying to figure out why the studio is tanking, if he can trace where the money is going, and also coming up with a plan to present his script to the producer in a way she might actually consider it - possibly pretending it's written by someone else, if she's less likely to dismiss it that way (when it's not her younger cousin). (Week 3 is planning, presenting the script probably won't happen till week 4?)

Rumors probably center around him being spotted drinking alone at a bar on thanksgiving - there was a death in the family! No, his girlfriend broke up with him! Wait, he had a girlfriend? I always thought he was gay...

Along those lines, anyway.

(Bliss needs to hiatus, so we're working out what that means for the Producer and those who interact with her regularly.)

Armin did indeed find out from Jack that his cousin the producer is embezzling from Transcendent Pictures. The thread's not finished yet, so idk if he plans to reveal it to everyone or to bring it to the director or someone to help him confront her about it yet, but he's definitely gonna do something about it next week - with the goal of getting her out of a position to continue tanking the company, and to get his own script the thing they're all working on instead, because he thinks it could actually make enough to save the company, unlike this movie.

Let me know how that's going to work out, it's definitely affect how things progress.

Also, question: Armin knows that his script could be a blockbuster, but reading it, would Jack see the same thing? I know that sometimes what a character knows and what's actually true aren't the same thing, so wanted to check whether it's really as good as he thinks it is

Waverly will be removing herself from the equation, but there will be a higher-up-than-her around for the petition delivery. Armin could always take the info to them. (Megan will be doing famface duties for the occasion, but I don't know which one yet.)

As for Armin's script, whether it's really blockbuster material or only so in his own mind is up to you (and possibly AL, as the other player whose character is seeing it). It's a bit late in proceedings to completely supplant Phantom Thief, but if all goes well he could potentially get work started on his script.

I think he'd probably bring it to the director or someone first, but we'll see. Depends on how and why Waverly is vanishing, and if Armin knows that, maybe.

Al and I have decided it probably is actually a blockbuster. And as long as the studio is able to begin production on it without going under, like Armin was worried about, that's fine.

Anything to report from week 4/plans for week 5/last juicy rumors for the road?

I haven't gotten on week 4 yet, unfortunately, due to a combination of being thrown off by the producer vanishing and me being gone most of the week, but Armin definitely would be approaching the new higher up about his script. Further plans probably hinge on that.

As for rumors, probably people wondering whether Armin was involved with the embezzling - he is Nabiki's cousin, after all, and people don't notice the assistant as much, he could be up to anything...
