Backstory Stuff

So Branch's original name was Phial and originally he was a normal actor that played normal roles--but he wanted to do something a bit more challenging. And also he thought it was a damn shame that there was so little room for creativity in the typical life of a mythic and you know what? He was willing to give up the comforts of space to bring more meaning into the lives of the mythics. I feel like this was when he'd aged out of the pretty boy roles. Like, he was definitely a grown adult of thirty or more when he took the plunge for being a mythic. He's probably in his early forties by now.

Somehow he's managed to be just useful enough to not get bodily hauled to god's island by his annoyed fellow mythics despite living through multiple days of farewell... but it's taken most of his natural charisma to keep just enough on everyone's good side that they're all 'sigh, that's Branch the big weirdo' instead of 'dump the waste of space.'

I feel like becoming the useless layabout who doesn't do any work happened by accident? Like, he was working on lyrics to a song that he was going to try to sing/teach everyone and completely lost track of time and his innate sense of Drama figured it would be more entertaining if he played it as having skived off deliberately and it kind of snowballed from there.

I don't think he's really a part of any family per se, but there's various cookfires/homes that he'll crash and he's multiple people's weird 'Uncle.'

Noting that I realized during the second week that he's an adult product of the Actors program and was raised by Orwell, just as Phillip and Snowdrop were.

Phial is actually his original stage name. His birth name is... well, it's Oliver.
