The weak point in the plan for Circe right now (aside from completely misreading Cain’s likely reaction lol) is getting the implement that she’s going to use to smash the tablets into Stone’s house without being noticed, so that’s definitely a point where he could like “accidentally” witness her with it (especially if he’s somehow heard about the fake plan to kill Stone which would give him reason to be lurking near his house).

Acantha would totally show up at Stone's house if he heard about the fake plan (or possibly even if he hadn't, if Stone actually agrees to teach him) and witness Circe.

He might even plead for her to stop. Or cower in between her and the tablets (I don't think he's ready to reveal his secret badass yet)

That might actually have worked if she cared about any of these people. She’s completely convinced of her absolute power over Acantha so it’s up to him to either break character to protect the tablets or sacrifice them to the cause of freedom for the Mythics I guess. (It might also be a chance for him to see her direct line to the producers in action if he needs confirmation on that because she’s going to get Phillip to call off the midges.)

Well, as a spy, he's got super good memory so he's probably memorized several. (He may also have taken it upon himself during actor training to learn to read and write the Folk's version of their language) He might have to sacrifice... just to prove that Circe is bad.

(his attempt at 'bravery' would probably be more like "you'll have to go through me" and just trembling and holding still for as long as it takes her to physically knock him out (of the way))

Yeah, and Stone has been methodically hiding important tablets for months (at least) so it’s not a total loss but it’s still a pretty terrible blow to the community.

Poor kid, luckily she doesn’t think he’s a big enough threat to actually hurt him or he’d have to break character anyway. (Like a forceful enough “go away” is probably enough to get him to leave, and then what’s he gonna do about it? Cry?)

Oh Circe, if only she knew. Acantha will fix her with the most terrified, most betrayed look. She told him to learn and now she's ruining everything!

I'm excited to see how this plays out!

I will say that Stone also has them all memorized. He will still be devastated... and then angry... but the loss isn't irrepairable. Just a huge pain in the ass because now he has to make a bunch of new ones and that takes time.

Whether or not Stone accepts him as a student, Acantha would do everything possible to help with replacing them. He will gather and work clay day and night, if he has to.

Although he might leave the imprinting to others, because an ill-timed seizure could be a horrible setback in the process.

They'll need a lot of clay, so he'll absolutely take him up on that. He can maybe help with inscribing if his hand is steady when not seizing (and he can write), cuz fixing a clay tablet that hasn't been fired yet isn't that hard. They don't fire until the writing is done.

Acantha absolutely has a steady hand when he's not pretending to be terrified of everything (or seizing) and because he's trained all his life for this mission, he has worked hard to make his memory nearly perfect too. With a little practice writing by hand (admittedly, he's only ever typed before) he could accurately replicate any tablet he's had a chance to look at for a few minutes. With a lot of practice, he could replicate down to the original creator's 'handwriting' as it were.

Since these are destroyed (and Stone has no idea about Acantha having them memorized, ahaha) what'll be happening is Stone is dictating them from his own memory. So if he can take dictation, he'll be good.

(And if he does use the original handwriting, Stone might start to wonder a little. once he's done having an emotional moment.)

Eventually Acantha will be able to safely drop the act, and admit that he's a plant of a rebel group trying to free the Folk from their reality TV imprisonment.

And that he has no idea what to do with his life now that his mission is (hopefully) done, help.

Since Circe is fully willing to hurt herself to frame Cain even further, think it would be out of the question for her to attack Acantha too? If he has a seizure from it he won't be in any state to reliably say who it was that attacked him.

Yeah, but I'm pretty sure he could put two and two together.

I'm totally up for that if it happens!

Oh I’m sure she could tell a heart rending story about his quavering sincerity in the face of Cain lol

Oh, I'm sure she could. This'll be so much fun

Yeah and like with older tablets most of the people who carved them are dead so like it’s the destruction of that history of their people even if they rewrite it.

Hence the devastation before he gets angry :< He knew and loved some of those people who made those.
