Beastfolk: A Plot Role Info

If you are not a plot infiltrator or someone with IC reasons to share knowledge available to plot infiltrators, please do not read the comments of this post.

If you ARE a plot infiltrator, please comment under your toplevel to let us know you've read it; please also pop over here to announce your plotroleishness to the game at large. We prefer that you do any confidential plotting with other plot-important folks in the comments here, rather than on plurk, and please comment no later than May 21st, May 29th, June 6th, June 14th, & June 22nd with a brief (as brief as 1 sentence; as long as you like) summary of your activity during the week & plans for next week. These comments will help the mods shape mingles and plot events to keep the story dynamic and player actions important to the outcome. Likewise, comment at any time with any questions you may have, and a mod will get back to you within 36 hours at the outside.

If he doesn't touch anything, nothing will happen (at least, not right away), but he'll see rows and rows of what look like unusually large midges, with pronounced probosci. They're still pretty small, but definitely easy to see (maybe about horsefly instead of no-see-um size?)

Well, that's creepy. What happens if he goes further in?

ironically I would have asked this question sooner but got derailed by a horsefly getting into the house

Again, just looking around won't cause anything to happen, but lights will flicker on in red, while the inside gets darker. If he persists even then, he'll hear a creepy voice coming from multiple directions and reverberating.

"Unworthy one who trespasses on the gods' home, leave now or suffer!"

So now would be a great time to say that he thinks the gods are lies and he's here to prove it, right?

It would probably be a great time to do that although perhaps not great for longevity..

This would prompt the creepy voice to ask what proof he requires of the gods' existence.

He wants his daughter back dammit. I'd imagine that would be more yelling in the heat of the moment than what he might have imagined he'd be answering in a situation like this.

weeeeeell, since Circe did bring it up to the Producers as a way to get him off her back and they don't want the folk to lose their belief... If he says that, he'll be told that he must leave and not look back, and his daughter will be returned.

He'd want to know how he's supposed to believe that, since he's been told all he's got to do is stay quiet and keep his head down and pray and stuff and look, she'd be returned...when clearly that has not been the case.

Because this is still a Hajime infiltration who's down to fight, alas.

And here's where I ask you how you'd like it to end. The Producers have no qualms about killing him. They could do it (the weapons are right there, even).

Or he could get a 'insolence!' and wake up back in the courtyard with crocoducks possibly trying to eat his tail.

Or he could get the above, and also wake up with a newborn, very weak and constantly fussy baby who's as close a genetic match as possible without defects unmistakably very much like his lost daughter.

In their metrics, it would be things like his popularity, and any concerns about others getting up in arms or going looking for him causing issues that would dissuade them from the killing.

OKAY so after much consideration because trying not to get Ike and a baby killed later is going to stress me out, poor Ike is not walking away from this encounter.

Which leaves me with a couple more questions! ...namely, how long should it take for Hajime to respawn, and where will he be respawning? I should also mention he's used "I'm a nasty bug spirit who's making use of this vessel" before upon having an infiltration die, sob.

I think how long and where is a mod question, I think. I'll ping the plurk!

Hajime could always try to pretend to be Ike! It wouldn't be the first time that an attempt to kill somebody has failed (poor Jayden) although the producers would be very concerned that it happened more than once.
