So Kinji's original mission was just to gather intel or sabotage, basically deep spy shit, but he accidentally uncovered that the Consort is alive? Or was he always here to find his Princept's Royal Bae?

Regarding the Philia core, is there any immediate way to identify that there's someone inside it, like psychic poking or just observation? And/or are there other cores in the works that he'd be able to investigate later and realise they have people sized holes?

If he knows the trigger to transform himself and times it well, would he be able to have any control over what his transformation looks like? Is it randomised or is he stuck as One Thing?

Yep! Also if he's stuck in one form or another thanks to time limits, he can cheat out of it by using this skill.

For my own records, his activation trigger is Human Classical Music (Specifically Cellos) and his deactivation is Palm-On-Skin Contact (Eg: handshakes, grabbing someone etc)

Literally all I can think is that this guy's human looks are all Kinji-adjacent, like- looks like him if you squint, but otherwise consistently different. So he has a nickname for Phillip so he can recognise him.

So I don't know if she knows he's an alien? But he saved her when she Saw Too Much and has somehow figured out he's trying to end the war. So we should probably hash out how much they know about each other since I have no idea how she would have found that out without talking to/at least observing him...?

oh also he probably saved pop-star her and could have talked to phillip as a guy so. IDK we gotta chat

Could be he saved her from someone who thought she was snooping in places she wasn't supposed to be?

Yeah, that was my interpretation! But people still probably think she Knows Too Much so she's kiiiind of freaked out? She might have approached him in civilian/male form since he kind of owes Kinji a solid and would like the war to end and always walking around in the form people recognize while people might be trying to kill her seems like a bad plan??

As soon as he actually gets photo evidence of your partner he will send that shit asap

Find coordinates, she'll bring a few operatives in a stealth ship to help facilitate a rescue.

How would they be communicating? Occasionally the Princep just gets untraceable spam email with juicy intel?

I'll note that FTL communication is not possible, but encrypted lightspeed gravimetric communications are.

I feel like messages encoded in a book cipher embedded in, like, the interplanetary equivalent of Nigerian Prince email scamming would be appropriately absurd-yet-reasonably-secure.

The key should be some ridiculous Earth space opera that got unreasonably popular both on Earth and in the Empire while they were still on peaceful enough terms to do some trading.
