What general direction would they be going in?

Toward the guarded facility at point G on the map.

And I have one(?) more question about this. Would checking multiple farms in multiple directions produce the same results?

Yes!

There are a handful of carts that go directly to the Dusk District's organic market, but the vast majority are headed to the guarded facility, even if a Lightside or Darkside market is closer.

About how many carts are there, give or take a few?

There are easily several dozen carts per week going to the guarded facility, especially now, in the big harvest season.

Even in the big harvest season, though, maybe three dozen carts per week go to the Dusk District. Being smaller, it's rather easier to keep fully stocked.
