A poured concrete floor and cinder block walls are lit by a single bare light bulb hanging overhead. Shackles dangle from brackets on every side, and the chair in the center of the room is clearly an electric chair. A tall glass sits on top of a stool made of what looks like pure gold - but the liquid inside it is almost definitely blood.

"Edgelord." Definitely not a term she's familiar with. "I'm pretty sure even Emperor Palpatine would think this is over the top."

Is Palpatine an edgelord? She will have to learn more about this concept. Though that's not her top priority. "How did his aesthetic win out?"

"Zey can be termed... somewhat pushy. But yes, your Palpatine might very well have been zeirs. Or Hakan's, I suppose," she adds, thoughtfully, "by virtue of being an emperor, but I suspect MALBOLGE might have the greater claim."

"That does not speak highly of this MALBOLGE." Palpatine has been held up her entire life as how bad things can get. And so far she's not seen any evidence to the contrary.

"No," the woman says, "it does not. We are more or less our archetypes, but zie is not a pleasant one. As for mine... I am Justice, ranked eleventh of the Arcana. I have taken the personal name 'Astræa' if that is easier for you."

"Justice." She does note the personal name, in case she wants to use it in the future. "It's because of the Jedi thing, isn't it?"

The Arcana take interest because of individual traits, right?

"Yours. What does that even mean?" That's one thing that's never really been clear. Why exactly the Arcana claim people. Or why they pick the ones they do.
