What options to spirits have for interacting with each other?

Spirits are capable of interacting normally with one another - speech, powers, contact.

More being-a-ghost questions!

1) how would a ghost navigate buildings without Spirit Travel? following people through open doors and such?

2) what are some dangers to ghosts that Ace might be aware of?

3) this one might be jumping the gun a little... would Ace know of any way in which a bunch of ghosts might spontaneously appear? (as with the investighosts, I assume?)

1) Yes! Or using poltergeist telekinesis to open the doors.

2) Large public gatherings full of mixed strong emotions; long periods of time without any emotional engagement; ghostly magic-users; the occasional weird inhuman spirit - he's probably never encountered one himself but has definitely heard of them.

3) Usually, a mass death - exploded gas main, traffic pileup, etc - causes a lot of trauma to a lot of dying folks and can produce many short-lived spirits.

Following-up on 3 -- how closely does the empty ghost version of Harrogate reflect the real one? For example, would Ace see cars moving down the street in real time, just empty of people?

No. Parked cars, yes, but motion and electricity only very rarely translate across the veil.

Hmm, okay. What other rules govern what objects translate across the veil? Would he be able to read a stack of today's newspapers, for example?

Yes. Temporary things come and go easily - long-lasting things change more reluctantly. So, historic buildings that have been renovated may flicker between versions, but the newspapers are always up to date.

How common is the ability to see/talk to ghosts? Persistently, not just on special occasions or emotional moments.

Oh, and would Ace have any knowledge of what that funeral flash was beyond "the occasional weird inhuman spirit" knowledge noted above?

Quite, quite rare. Multiple mediums being around at once would be totally unprecedented.

'Black magic' is a safe, if generic, guess.

Would any of the things Altaïr is drawing around the sinkhole have any effects?

They would make evil spirits uncomfortable and demons flee. Eldritch evil spirits would only be minimally affected.

How much would/should Ace remember or know about what happened in the first Harrogate jaunt?

A reminder of highlights would be great, yes! Ace was a handyman/errand boy for the theater troupe so he would've been part of the backstage crew, if that helps.

A dead body showed up at Thistle House, a seance contacted a spirit which said "Rex Venit," the king comes; there was a night where trumpets sounded and dead bodies walked out of the lake, and after a certain point everyone had nightmares whenever they slept.


During the rehearsal & play:
He would remember that the actors began believing in their roles too much once the second act began; that there were masked figures backstage at the play, that the doors of the theater were barricaded with the audience inside, and that during the intermission someone up in the rafters and catwalks started killing those masked observers and some fell into the crowd. Then rioting and fire.
