hoooo boy, Ella will be Not Happy with this guy for using her wife's funeral for such a thing.

However gossip wise:

Ella and Artie definetly had a very whirlwind romance, started from a fundraiser and snowballing from there. She's not from Harrowgate at all, and fairly reclusive.

Ella is free to be not happy, but when the town's stagnating and business is low, what else are you going to do with a big group of tourists?

Ohhhhhhhhh boy on the romance though. He's probably going to take the 'black widow' angle away from it, especially if Ella has always been quite reclusive. Is there a different angle you'd prefer for him to lean to?

I am fully on board for him having that angle, someone besides NPC's needs to keep pointing out the most obvious solution XD

Because how does someone not know they're marrying in to that kind of money, seriously.

From the feel of things he might wind up with a decent amount of influence, so if the rumor starts becoming uncomfortable to play with just lemme know and we'll figure out something new for him to spread!

I think there's going to be very little actual direct interaction between him and Ella, and a lot of the rumours will spawn from that.

but hell he'll be used to ghosts from Ace and then Beatrice in-jaunt, so add Artie to the party! Their dog is also available for possession. Ace might intervene if Artie does anger-haunting (i do not actually know the full extent of Ace's protectiveness over his descendants), so we'll definitely need to gather us all together and plot it out when it comes to it!

She's likely to be relatively benign as far as hauntings go (barring any corruption by evil spirits or general despair) - more along the lines of dumping his tea in his lap if he's talking trash about her wife, or possessing the dog to pee in all his shoes than full-on poltergeist shenanigans - but I'm definitely up for talking things out in more detail as a group if/when it becomes relevant.

I am good with all of this!! Since he and his BF also film ridiculous videos, if she wants to express discontent without actually doing anything, I'm pretty sure that the presence of ghosts messes up videos? I'll have to double-check when I'm at work, but basically I'm pretty sure she can just exist there when he's trying to film a video discussing how suspicious Ella is and render the entire thing 100% useless, if that's also a route you're interested in adding to the list!

I've also just realized - would Artie have made any contributions to the museum? If so, Skye would be bringing forward every item Artie's responsible for in a sort of memoriam display. Or if there's like, a section of the museum dedicated to her or some resources she contributed/donated, he'd allow people through on supervised tours to appreciate what she's done for them.

I am definitely interested in having her potentially mess up their videos by just being around/poking at equipment.

She probably would've contributed money if the museum had fundraising drives, but she was more focused on social issues, so probably no donations of physical artifacts - she's new money, so anything she donated would have to be something she went out and found instead of great-great-great-aunt Gertrude's historically significant whatsit, and that really isn't her arena. Though if the museum has a pop culture/media exhibit, she might've pulled some strings to get them a few things that usually wouldn't go to an out of the way town via her industry ties?
