For next week: a sinkhole will open up in town, providing access to some of the burned and buried ruins beneath town.

In light of that: what's been up this week, and what plans for next week?

"James" has been growing increasingly afraid of the shadows, and while he's offering the inn up to anybody who needs comfort and assistance, he's also taken to ensuring he never has to go out at night. When the sinkhole opens, he's probably going to double down, and may even start adding extra witch roses around the inn discreetly in a futile attempt to try to maintain the haven status of the inn.

It's going to be easier to notice something's up with him, and assuming somebody knows how to approach him, they might be able to get actual info out of him. Otherwise, he's going to continue to be in denial out of the assumption that people need a zone of sanity.

Starting in week 3, there will be far more ghosts everywhere, the living and the dead can communicate directly in dreams, and MI6 will quarantine the town.

With things having progressed this far, James is going to start dropping the pretense altogether and start trying to research the stories more to figure out if anything important can be gleaned from them. However, he will still not leave the inn during the evening, and will still be attempting to do what he can to help the townspeople. After all, the effects of stretching out too far beyond one's means is itself a story within the family...

In the meantime, if he can start moving around in dreams now, he may attempt to see if he can locate people lost in nightmares and pull them out. Perhaps with the smell of tea and toast?
