Well, Yuuki and Ace are certainly bonding well together, and the kid is helping Yuuki with a decision he may have to make post-Retrograde. He's also going to help Naoya discover how his Adversary powers work, and has learned from Rube about how Travelers Infiltrate into each world... somewhat. He's getting ready to chat with Matthew, and I swear I'm forgetting another person or two.

As for Week 4 plans? He needs to make a decision regarding how to keep up the hopes of his era's Champions. The carbocon gem sounds like the better option than trying to get the Rise Era Oracles to stop Sanctioning their Adversaries. I still don't know who the Sempai for the Travelers' is, though; do you mods know? I'd love for Yuuki to meet him either this coming week or in a backtrack thread. I do feel that, if he gets enough info and if the Starquakes are resolved by Jaunt's End, he could make the next great quest be trying to figure out how to better help the Travelers if they ever meet them again.

Week 3 was a write-off OOCly on my part (sickness, stress, etc) and I did not manage to top level. I'm going to declare that after helping take down the Rise-era Glatisant (in a top level I'll fling out shortly-like), Kentrolite went to get his sulk on.

For week 4, I want to get him re-engaged with the goings on. The best possibility right now is being worried about all the spirit companions being garbled, even if he's on the outs with his own. If there are mod suggestions for things to point him at, I'm happy to take them!

Re: Misplaced Champion - Usagi

Her Spirit Companion is repeating "out of time" and Usagi wonders if that has something to do with how she feels so misplaced or if it's something else.

She was in the forest, handwavedly helped with the problem there and not-handwavedly wondered about possibilities of Dreamjumping to follow the music to track down anything about it. She's thinking of ways to get creative with it, I just got there really late...

Next week she (and Endymion) will be in the cabochon group! ... No idea how well or badly that will go, see if her real magical girl form's silver crystal appears there at some point to help if they get into too much trouble. Since in theory it's with her all the time somewhere (unless it's with her real body...) though she wouldn't even know what it is right now but magical girl crystals seem to know how to tell their girl what to do anytime, so maybe possibilities of using Sailor Moon powers even when she is not herself??

Ohh and I will link you to that backdated week 2 Dreamjump soon.

Sadly, it would likely be with her real body.

Allura's plan to invade the Diabolin factory could use more help, or he could investigate what's happening with the Eidolon of Shadows, or take a stand somewhere once people begin distrusting Travelers for the Arcana messing with Spirit Companions.

I believe Naoki is the closest thing the Travelers have to a designated senpai!

Yes to the first question.

There would be a backup system for ventilation but it would have to be manually activated, and it would be in the ventilation system itself.

Ah, thought it might be so that is very good to know for sure. And just means I get to possibly figure out her Champion powers and see how this goes without her always depending on that crystal.

Nothing very exciting - Asa was poking around at the remains of the Glatisant in Rise-era, spoke with a few people and sat with Scarstin to try to center herself. Thae however received a message from an Oracle that someone with a 'hood of shadow' held the key to his survival, and he now believes that's Asa.

A little late! Okay, mostly Lupa was working on the Fintan Retrograde problem but Matthew did take him to Liminal. We have not finished the thread, but the plan is for Lupa to do Will readings in Liminal, searching for the wills of the Arcana and what info he can glean from Liminal itself. Considering that happened last week, what would he have found, in general?

Considering the Starquake thing (and that he's also read a Starquake's will, are there similarities at all? Or could he try to poke at the bigger Starquake and get something new/different?

Most of his actions this week will be either making peace between Dreamers and Travelers and probably trying to get himself in a position to talk with Traveler!Lupa somehow. Because yeah, he knows about Infiltration and knows his own will well enough to realize he's got a passenger.

Other things that he'll probably poke at a little bit will be the cabochon read the will of all the things!

Hi, it me. Oraclebel will instantly go ‘aw snap’ at her, confirm he saw the vision he passed on to Thae, and offer to assist.

What would Oracle-Of-Resonancing at her forgotten past and/or the dissonant whispers around her reveal?

He would have found only three Wills present in Liminal Space - two active and one passive.

There are some similarities but they feel quite different in a number of ways.

With the bigger Starquake, he'll have a sense of something reaching out and questioning.

If he focuses on the passive one, and what they desire/plan/intend etc what (if anything) will he learn from that?

If he pokes at the Starquake's questioning, will he be able to figure out what it is questioning and reaching for?

The passive one is simply waiting, not influencing anything.

Pokes at how?

Her background resonates most with Allura & Thae.

[personal profile] papacerberus 2018-02-10 11:26 pm (UTC)(link)
Will he get anything if he pokes at one of the active wills?

Pokes, as in, focusing to get more detail. Reaching out implies that it wants or intends something, and will can be used to express desire, intent, plans, or willpower, which all fall under his archetype (Or will as in future tense, but Lupa's not quite as connected to that part of will so he tends to get vague results when he's looking at things from that direction.)

Reaching out his will towards the Starquake's question is likely to both reveal a significant answer to him - and precipitate his transformation into a Harbinger. Your call if he cuts contact in time & remains unsure, or commits to pursuing the answer.

The active wills are both focused on dozens of things at once, staying vigilant & making minimal changes - active watching & balancing, essentially, like someone birdwatching while standing on a high wire. The minds are vast enough to feel more like places than people.

At this point, things are looking desperate enough to take the risk, so yeah, he'll pursue the answer.

Okay, so would he have likely picked up Merge on his own just from knowing it exists and generally what it does, or do I have to wrangle a teaching thread with Yuuki/Right (there are a couple threads I could turn to teaching a thing)

Because if he knows Merge (and I want to have actual!Lupa pick it up anyway) that's the next step he'd take.

Re: Council of Senpai, Double Valence-Era - Lupa

[personal profile] whatspringislike 2018-02-10 11:47 pm (UTC)(link)

He can certainly have picked up Merge on his own - teaching thread is only necessary if he's keeping it as a skill & it's a second skill.

The Starquakes are some kind of search, originating in deeper levels of dream by some consciousness. At first they mainly affected terrain because they thought terrain was what they were looking for. Now they're chasing people because they've realized people are what they're looking for.

[personal profile] papacerberus 2018-02-10 11:54 pm (UTC)(link)
Alright then, what will Merge tell him about Liminal and the wills behind it?

Excellent. So what can the Harbinger of Will do since that's... less clear of an Archetype than Storms and will going Harbinger offer him more insight on why they're seeking people, and/or unveil the wills behind the Starquakes a bit?

Re: Council of Senpai, Double Valence-Era - Lupa

I would say the Harbinger of Will could imbue areas woth a rudimentary consciousness and purpose.

That's actually kind of awesome.

But, um, you didn't answer the other question? Would Merge on Liminal give him anything or have consequences, or would it just fail?

Re: Council of Senpai, Double Valence-Era - Lupa

[personal profile] rosewater_path 2018-02-11 12:37 am (UTC)(link)
Merge in Liminal will show him what Sayf was shown: a yin-yang globe with two beings at work inside it, which we can thread or handwave. As far as insight: he will realize that people are not "becoming" Harbingers - the consciousnesses behind the Starquakes are using Harbingers as extensions of their Will, with very little understanding of what they are doing.
