I'm not actually sure off hand. He'd want it to be close enough to the competition actually starting to really throw Leo off balance and make him doubt himself/be distracted by insisting that he didn't do it. I'm not 100% sure what the actual schedule of events is like.

...also I forgot to ask, what's Leo's art/magic style?

His main one is performance poetry, so he has an advantage there because the other two focus on perpetual. And I just looked it up, that's the first event which is the next mingle, due to go up on the 20th. (He's also training in written poetry but he definitely isn't as strong in that. For the moment, he's only mentioning the performance aspect to try and make sure that people write him off for perpetual, but obviously it would be possible to find that out by talking to other people from Majesty's.)

...I am half tempted to somehow pull a Phantom of the Opera reference and something something in the water just before he performs (something that gives him a scratchy throat/cough/etc that could be written off as nerves, basically). Since small backstory bit with Takuya, his twin bro does performance and likes to act like it's superior to perpetual (which is Takuya's preferred) so added resentment to go with the blue blood skill rubbing him the wrong way. Your call on that, however! But if he goes for that first, that'll be this upcoming mingle, with the framing the one after (since throwing Ochre off his knitting game is more important for the perpetual aspect.)

Yeah, I realised that actually it'd make more sense to disrupt the perpetual after I posted, but you beat me posting back before I could edit!

I'm totally up for Takuya trying, but I think I'm going to call for it failing? I'd like Leo to actually not fuck up something so he can get even more big headed for a bit (plus it means a bigger fall). He'll end up throwing the towel in if he fluffs the event where he expects to go well, and I want him to compete until the end. But like I said, he's more than welcome to try!

A try and a fail would be pretty invisible (literally, in this case) so not quite sure how to play out a failure. Could have Leo just have an odd feeling like something was off maybe? But not enough for it to affect him. The good performance would definitely cement the "gonna frame this guy so hard"

He's also welcome to completely assume that Leo paid his way in and has no actual talent. I'm sure he wouldn't be the only one!
