Elsewhere U Plot Role Info

If you are not a plot infiltrator or someone with IC reasons to share knowledge available to plot infiltrators, please do not read the comments of this post.

If you ARE a plot infiltrator, please comment under your toplevel to let us know you've read it; please also pop over here to announce your plotroleishness to the game at large. We prefer that you do any confidential plotting with other plot-important folks in the comments here, rather than on plurk, and please comment no later than September 17, 25, October 3, 11, 19 & 27 with a brief (as brief as 1 sentence; as long as you like) summary of your activity during the week & plans for next week. These comments will help the mods shape mingles and plot events to keep the story dynamic and player actions important to the outcome. Likewise, comment at any time with any questions you may have, and a mod will get back to you within 36 hours at the outside.

Checking in, belatedly, because I"ve been away from a real computer. Gosh yes.

(Absolutely need to make sure that I keep that skill, ooof.)

Anything to report for week one?

Week 2: You know the Royal's unleaving Changeling could spell disaster for Elsewhere U. If the authorities overrun the school, start an international incident, or even close it, the jig could be up, and the balance and peace could be upset. You are very interested in keeping the balance, so conveying the importance of this to others is in your best interest. Sidenote: the plants in the Theatre may pique your interest.

If knowledge of the rescue party’s first obstacle reaches your ears either this week or next week, depending on how long it takes to thread out, you may share information on how to appease the plants. Solution 1: A Fae of your skill can magically reprogram them to allow the rescuers passage. For a price of course. This way is slower, since it requires a specialist’s touch. Solution 2: Everyone stop fighting and start gardening. If the plants sense the rescuers' intent to grow rather than destroy, they will allow passage.

As no other character has (surprisingly, for Syn) offered ideas on how to set everything on fire, Foxglove is in luck. He will save the day this week with minimal loss to plant life. Please poke the players of the official rescue party (listed here) plus Taurina the RA, to cast their votes on which of Foxglove's 2 gardening solutions their characters would choose. If there is a tie, RA has the final say. If they have a plotting toplevel, use those for poking so that plotting is more transparent.

Anything to report from week 2?

Week 3 won't have special duties for Foxglove, so he's free to do whatever he'd like. I had not anticipated no one poking either the plants or Foxglove in week 2. There were a bad combination of things in week 2 that came together, and that meant... no one won. Several toplevels haven't been tagged even today. I'm really sorry about that, and just to be sure, I want to say it's definitely not your fault.

Originally I had thought an OOC vote was not needed, just me glancing at who had threaded in the area and what their character wanted to do. Maybe I should have just let it be an IC failure and carried the plants over to week 3, but then I feel like that would have undermined the presence of Foxglove's powerful Skill and shorted you a chance to really have some fun.

Because onscreen efforts were thin on the ground, I repeat due to no fault of yours, I'm having the Theatre back at campus being overrun with plants that now attack. Also, opportunity for a skill proof if you haven't done it already, I know you were jazzed about it and I really want to make it happen for you. Also that seemed the logical weed-like thing for attack plants to do.

I'm sorry it took so long to reply here, I've been spending hours rewriting next mingle so it doesn't hinge on any one thing, as well as the contingency if this happens again. It means less fun doing the usual Syn discovery thing, but it's for the best.

Week 3

Anything to report from week 3? (I do know that due to multiple efforts, the plants in the theater are under control for good. Still trying to gather all my notes for anything else of note happening next week.)

Besides the theatre plants, Foxglove has planted a few of his own around the outdoor fairy rings. They're not exactly aggressive, but they will bar the way and/or restrain anyone who does not know exactly what they're doing, i.e. it should be a bit trickier for someone to wander into a fairy ring without realising it's there.

Adding to the mingle, thanks!

Week 4

Anything to report from week 4?

Foxglove's efforts to make the campus grounds a safer place have aided (or at least prevented some premature accidents) in a few Investigators' mission in the Forest to retrieve Anna Monday's shards from the crows. Whether they will give them back to Anna Monday is being ICly decided. They’ve kept this to themselves for now, but I thought you might like to know because that’s kind of a cool indirect development.

More readily apparent to Foxglove is that there's less concern about members of the public with tickets to see the festival's play tripping into one.
