Role in current universe: Gryphon knight searching for the Queen.
Backstory/Description of new identity: A knight, loyal and good and sympathetic to the common people's plight, but still humble despite everything. The law must be upheld, the greater good must be followed, and he is but a tool of that. Daneel has always been a knight in his little robotty heart, he just doesn't know it.
Significant changes in personality/mannerisms: The major change will be that Daneel will no longer think of himself as subservient to everyone. He's still going to think of his role as serving the general public and the missing Queen, but it's a subtle difference that comes naturally.
Kinds of CR/RP scenarios you're looking for with this plot: Oh man, open to so many things. I am definitely looking forward to playing with Daneel having a bit of self importance (but only a bit), and with the concept of a Questing Sense. He can rescue people, he can be rescued, he can introduce you to his pretty gryphon. Bring me your ideas!
Anything Else/: I have not... yet... decided how I'm going to be handwaving the robotness. So that's there.

AFTER THOUGHT:

Yes Daneel will believe himself cursed to never sleep or eat, or to need it. Also to be unageing. Not without its benefits, but it is a little uncomfortable to think about the eventual implications.
