Role in current universe: Baron of Westgard
Backstory/Description of new identity: Once a knight (not of the Gryphon), he was raised to the nobility by the Queen after the previous Baron rebelled. Bringing a dislike of politics and a no-nonsense approach to governance, he's gradually become fed up with being the neglected frontier, poor and overlooked and bandit-stricken, and has mostly come to the Tournament to strongarm whoever he can into coming back to clean up the region.
Significant changes in personality/mannerisms: Nope. He's still a cantankerous, ambivalently moral, goal-oriented maverick who's not afraid to throw his weight around.
Kinds of CR/RP scenarios you're looking for with this plot: People to argue with! Snark galore! Maybe some negative CR, maybe someone to kill/overthrow him.
Anything Else/: nope

yes some negative CR is definitely in order. Baron Shepard (Baron Jae?) probably has very little use for ANY of his fellow noblemen, and is showing up at the tournament only to strongarm or shame his fellows into helping him with his bandit problem (maybe after doing some fetch quests for them WAIT WRONG GAME).

It is POSSIBLE he might support someone's claim to the throne if they FIRST helped him clean up Westgard's wilderness, but he will be very clear on the order of operations and not very polite about it.
