(Ambrose came from The Thicket itself, and if one dares go look - and he thinks them worthy - they'll find him there in a very well appointed bower, heavy with lilacs in bloom and carpeted by violets. Assuming he doesn't have another guise to occupy himself with.)

Your nobles are so caught up in their petty in-fighting and rivalries that they aren't nearly as open to his influence, Cousin, so, y'know, cater to your fans and all.

He doesn't precisely have a quarrel with you, Violet, he just doesn't think most of your themes and goals fit very well with his. But when he bickers with you, he's being friendly about it! No real enmity. Maybe some jealousy. But only a little.
