Or rather, everything in this room appears to be upside-down, except for the room itself. The slightly dusty windows appear to have been installed upside-down, but the scenery past them is no better - it is a confusing mess of floating platforms on large balloons, many of which have accidentally pulled from their mooring island and flipped over in a tangle of ropes, making them useless to anyone. The ceiling's light, which should be hanging elegantly, is instead attached to the ceiling with the sturdy bronze chain dangling instead.
An upturned chair balances perilously next to an upturned table, upon the underside of which sits a clear glass that is filled with some sort of fizzy soda pop - but it is upside down on a crystalline coaster. If anyone wanted to drink it, they'd have to flip it over with the coaster on top. But that can easily be done.
Luke enters the room with the impression that he's been gone a very long time and with only the blurriest of memories to fill in the blanks--he has the vague notion that at one point he'd been on a space station--at another point he'd been investigating a murder?--but where was the connection?
Perhaps it doesn't matter. He's fairly sure where he is now. Liminal space--some form of it.
He turns the chair over first, then uses the coaster to flip the glass of fizzy soda pop. Setting that aside momentarily, although keeping it in sight, he moves to flip the table.
It is quite a refreshing cola-like liquid, though there is little sustenance to it. Someone never bothered to pay attention in Arcana Cooking Class.
There is suddenly a jangle of metal above Luke's head, and what appears to be a legless droid is dangling from the chain, his broken leg joint caught in the link at the very end. A tangle of wires thread through other links in the chain to keep him secured there. It can barely touch the rim of the glass from that height, but if Luke stands they would be face to face.
A vision of a similar-looking droid, devoid of all context, passes over Luke and he shivers. He drains the glass of cola, sets it aside, and then stands.
"Hello?" he says, standing up. "I'm Luke. Who are you?"
The glass remains empty for about five seconds, and then slowly begins to refill itself with the same bubbly liquid.
The droid cocks its head to the left (right?) at the question, before answering, "Pendu. And you are... Skystrider." It shrugs. "Or something like that."

Luke may get the strange feeling that he is being watched. But nothing appears just yet.

It gives a small wave in greeting.

He assumes the droid must be. It isn't as if they've ever even seen a Champ.

It's never happened before, that any of the Travelers have met one, but even so...
