It whines a little, eyes pleading. Then it first nods, then shakes, its head.

"Can't talk?" He thought a moment. "You want something from me though don't you?"

Shaun thought for a moment, leaning back a little as he watched the wolf. "This would be easier if you could talk you know. I'd like to know what you want me to do." Before he decides if he wants to do it or not.

The wolfling gives him a hurt look, and there's a brief glimmer of green light - and then the wolf is gone, and there's an exhausted-looking man in a white suit with the same luminous blue eyes sitting in its place.

And Shaun did scramble back a little because, yeah tad freaky... And he's seen paranormal shit before. "Okay give a guy a little warning will you?"

"It's difficult to bark an adequate explanation," he says, frustrated. "Please. My time like this is limited. Ask your questions."

Okay well, at least he'd get answers, Animal charades...Not a skill he thought he'd ever need.

"Okay, where are we? Is Rebecca here?" He really hoped not in a way, though hoped she was okay... "And what do you want with me?"

"This is not a place, she is not, and I want you to be my representative."

Well okay...

"You do realize I'm not one to play by the rules right? I mean have you seen my resume?" Shaun, you're probably not helping anything.

[sagetime]

"I am aware of your history. And for the most part, the rules we craft are for us to follow - not for you."

Shaun's still a little wary.

"You know what I've done and still actually want my help?" Sorry Sage, but it's a little hard to believe. He's no Desmond. "What do I have to do?" HE'd at least give a little.

"Learn. Keep secrets. Think deeply. Do not be rushed, and do not be open with yourself."

Shaun was quiet a few moments. "And if I don't?"

Hey he had to know what he was really getting into.

[sagetime]

"Then I will lose," he said simply.

[fawkestheories]

"Lose what?" Shaun watched him, trying to figure out if he was lying or not. "And I'm still not sold in helping yet."

[sagetime]

"Synodiporia. The Great Game. It is how we determine which of us is to rule the next yom."

[fawkestheories]

Shaun's silent a moment thinking it over. "We still get free will and all that?"

[sagetime]

"An interesting question. The circumstances of the game are sometimes coercive. But we do not deny the capability of choice. There are only a few of us who would wish such a thing."

Shaun listens and nods. "Fine, I'll help."

[sagetime]

"Thank you. If you wish, I believe I have time for one more query before I must revert to a less... verbal... state."

[fawkestheories]

Shaun's thinking a moment at that. "If I do decide to go home is there a way? Or is that all end game stuff?"

[sagetime]

"I'm afraid only the victor of our contest has sufficient power for such a feat," he says, and shudders. His eyes close, and when they open again, they are wolf-eyes.

Shaun nods getting it. He's there until the end of the game it looks like. "Thank you for the information."

There's a green shimmer of light, and then, once again, a white yearling wolf sitting where the man had been a moment before. It bows its head, very formally, and sinks down onto the cushion, looking exhausted.
