"Oh no, no, it's totally useful to me," she says. "I wanna know what happens in those other worlds. Especially with you Travelers. So... is it tied to you or tied to where you are? Cause if it's the second maybe you could tell me about the world where I won my match against SAGE."
He stares at her for a bit before pinching the bridge of his nose. "The answer to the second question probably answers your first, because I honestly have no idea what you are referring to." He shakes his head. "As far as I can tell, I could only tell you about alternate conclusions to situations I personally experienced. And even then, it only appears to extend to particularly..." He struggles to find a word for it. "...significant moments? Perhaps? Certainly I do not recall every instance of whether I took a test or not."
She nods. "Tied to you, then. Too bad. Well, what about the world where MALBOLGE beat Durga? You were there for that one, even if you were that English guy with the tea. Can you see one where everyone bound ghosts to things to try to combat Bernkastel--hey, do you have ones where she never went the full Eldritch Goober? Because wow, that was scary. I think all of us were creeped out."
GEEZ. Ask the worst one, will you. But he shakes his head. "Thankfully, I only recall one set of memories. My inclination is because I was not technically ME in that moment, but rather someone else. What I perceive only seems to go as far as what I personally have or would have witnessed." And anyway, what are you trying to do, drain his SAN points?
"Oh," she says, disappointed. "Well, that's too bad. I mean, you're interesting, don't get me wrong, but I think Lune might have exaggerated your utility a bit."
Hiroshi maintains a calm expression, but the tone of his voice has dropped into subzero temperatures. "I have, through whatever miserable forces at work, been forced to re-remember the worst night of my life over and over and over, with seemingly no end to the variations. Every possible iteration, every possible way my friends die, or I die, or worse. And you are attempting to find utility in this."
He pushes his glasses up in irritation. "This is not a GIFT I have, you realize. It is a curse. There is nothing to utilize. It simply IS."
"Okay, okay," Lovers says, holding her palms out in front of her. "I get it, I get it. Curse, not gift. Sure. Whatever. Hey, you missed part of Showtime because Lune was fooling around, right? Let me pull down a bubble and we can watch some. I'll get you more snacks too. We've been learning about how you mortals have to eat and drink beverages," she adds, as if this an important revelation.
