Jean can understand both the poetic and philosophical implications of Fortune and Strength being close, or so he believes. Still, there is something he would like to know for sure:
He doesn't believe in any of this. Not even the horror stories about the last Jaunt. At least not completely. Not yet. But the information she volunteered seems to demand only one reaction:
"What can I do to help you avoid becoming endangered again?"
"I am fine; I recovered fully. Newport was... good for me." She nods to herself, assuredly. "I will tell you if it happens again. I am willing to trust you, my Chosen. But for now, I am well."
