He's spent all of week 1 checking in with people, giving out instructions and info, and being grumpy about everyone telling him Adversaries are normal, because dammit they're against everything he knows about QC :| He pointed a couple people at paths and spirit companions and shit like that.

Going into week 2, he's going to probably be chewing out people about "peacebonds", trying to get a handle on what ELSE QC could possibly be for (besides fostering hope in the waking worlds) that Adversaries are good for, and visiting the other times' places to get a better feel for what's going on there, especially Starquake era. He is most concerned about Starquake era, tbh.

Week 1: learned about Travelers, theoretically teaming up with Kanji. Asking about fuel in the waking world for Allura in exchange for advice with soil stuff.

Week 2 Plans: Harbringer Times!! Running headfirst in to whatever shenanigans come afoot

Re: Adversary/Oracle of Resonance - Ringabel

[personal profile] bigbookofd 2018-01-22 02:42 am (UTC)(link)
This week was mostly introductions and information gathering on their part.

Most notably, the Oracle ran into the Champion of Liberation and would very badly like to help her win much more decisively this iteration, but fears the long-term consequence of meddling with history.

Meanwhile, the Adversary is mostly outraged on behalf of the Fallen, and will help them break free of their unjust bonding and damn the consequences.

If they can get over themselves they may note these are far from mutually exclusive.

If I wanted to use the Oracle’s powers to ask about those possible resonances re: helping Allura win more, would the Questing Sense thread be the right place?

Yuuki's been answering questions from Altair, Usagi and Inigo, while checking up on two of his era's youngest Champions - Pearl and Ace(/Casper). He's also talking to Lupa about what's been going on with Future!Questing Country, unknowingly giving his fellow Sempai a chance to read Yuuki's Will. (Spoilers: It's full of worries that he's not telling anyone else yet.) He's also checking up on Malik's Infiltrator, and I suspect that he may end up getting a little worried before their talk is done

In Week 2, I do intend to have him mingle more with Champions and Adversaries of all groups, trying to Inspire them to work together to resolve the main issues of both Past and Future Questing Countries. This would obviously mean him clashing a bit with the Oracles and Champions of the Past regarding their Adversaries. I also do hope to have him talk more with his fellow Sempai, and maybe even meet Asa's Plot-role!Infiltrator.

Third question!

[personal profile] lunchleader 2018-01-22 03:10 am (UTC)(link)
This is a Just In Case one and I apologize for it being late - what is the current status of 22nd Century Earth? I presume that there's no World War or Intergalatic War going on - pretty sure that would've been notated on the main Jaunt info. But is it more peaceful than the 21st century/Modern Earth? Or does it have the normal amounts of conflicts?
lunchleader: (don't know if want)

Fourth Question

[personal profile] lunchleader 2018-01-22 03:21 am (UTC)(link)
Something that Lupa brought up in their thread together that I just realized that Yuuki should know - what would happen if someone tries to touch or enter one of those altered areas? Would they be immediately burned/frostbitten? Or would the consequences be more slow to manifest?
bigbookofd: (a moment of angst)

Pending a check-in with the mods for use of Know Greater Consequences Of Actions, Future!Ringabel will be very willing to give Allura that help. He'll even say that's the reason why when he decides to act.

Just, you know, fussy careful Oracle.

She met Mamoru's overlay (twice, but the thread's on-going just like all of mine are atm) and heard that he is from the Rise-era to give her even more reasons to dream of being from there. ...yeah, their history of falling in love for each other just keeps repeating itself. She's also meeting Allura on first week but that thread is just starting, so we'll see how that goes and keep you updated too.

But she also met some people from her own timeline (because why wouldn't I throw her at archetypes of Internet and Machines when this elf could live without technology just fine! Meeting not-horses-Jean too but his archetype is pleasure at least, so that's nice for her too!) and she went to ask questions from the Future Senpai. Because apparently she decided that if she wants to jump into the past, getting some answers from the future should also be a thing.

Week 2 plans or more like ideas are uh, getting around more and meeting more people! More research on everything and falling for Mamoru even moooooore. Maybe dreamjumping if there's a good chance to do that. ... other than that or more real plans, not yet, but when I'll have them, I will let you know.

Ummm, I really need to be faster with tagging but this week wasn't very good for that so all of my threads are short atm and maybe there will be even more of them later even to this first week. I'm really sorry about this week's speed from my side!;;; I'll do better from week 2 on in the actual week too and not just with backdated things!

Nothing extreme - she's now learned that she's in Questing Country and that it's a dream world thanks to talking with dreamers and Travelers. She's determined that she must have hit her head either in the waking world or in QC to have caused her amnesia.

For week 2 she will be trying to figure out more of her own identity and if she might have any abilities in QC, which could lead to some shadowy shenanigans.

When in Harbringer Mode, can conversations take place? If so, how disjointed/vague would they be?

Also, what would be the "goal" of the Harbringer beyond probably making storms

Kentrolite has stomped around and made himself (or his title, at least) known to some of the travelers and others. He seems to be making a bit of a hash of his contact with the other Rise-era Adversaries, so that could be interesting to play with going forward. He's also starting to catch on to just what's happening in the other eras.

He's also realizing that Tachibana and Hajime are kind of familiar, but in a way he can't place, and mostly in a way that pisses him off. This will probably come back to bite him in the ass later down the line.

Week 2 plans are to look for a chance to be even more disruptive and speechy.... or to Do Something about whatever problems are threatening the other eras, presuming there's Something to Do.

[personal profile] powersthatare 2018-01-22 11:42 pm (UTC)(link)
That would be fine, but here is also fine!

The main thing he'll feel is that her story of how things are now DOES NOT resonate with the past he knows of. Whatever it was that happened to make her a legend, hasn't been made to happen "yet" - it will take present action to set the past on its 'proper' course.

Re: Week 1 check in

[personal profile] powersthatare 2018-01-23 12:08 am (UTC)(link)
We would be very interested to be linked to such a travel attempt if it happens!

The weapon foundries Allura works in cover an area about a hundred meters tall, three hundred meters wide, and fourteen hundred meters long. They contain forges and production lines for all manner of gravity melee weapons, 'telekinesis guns' for Diabolin cyborg warriors, gravity lances for spaceships, and railguns for both warriors and spacecraft, as well as the ammunition for those guns, made of radioactive thorium and cobalt.

Her understanding would be that other such factories exist but that hers is the single largest and most prestigious on this specific planet.

Security is brutal, but not necessarily tight. Diabolin guards guarantee obedience by not only punishing rebels or thieves but the crews they work on and the families of those crews - so most crews police themselves to prevent rebellion.

That said, elven rebels in the past have occasionally built combustion devices which incinerate themselves or their companions post-mortem, preventing identification, and rebels displaying their possession of such countermeasures regularly receive more help or trust (or at least, silence) from local crews. Short of genetic scans, Diabolin guards rarely bother attempting to casually identify their slaves - if the right number of workers do the right amount of work, why bother to doublecheck?

Re: Third question!

[personal profile] powersthatare 2018-01-23 12:12 am (UTC)(link)
Regular levels of conflict - the only places which are more peaceful are (much as today) the places whose superior technology and military permits them to act with impunity and retaliate disproprotionately if they're targeted.

The settling of other planets is primarly done by a combination of those world superpowers, and oppressed populations of less prosperous areas who think the risk of space travel may pay off with a better life (typical colonial settlement, in other words).

Re: Fourth Question

[personal profile] powersthatare 2018-01-23 12:13 am (UTC)(link)
If they have no magical protections up, yes, they'd suffer immediate physical; consequences (and no mental ones - it's specifically mental contact with the areas that does that!)

Got it, thanks!

Harbingers in Harbinger Mode can speak, but cannot perceive others clearly, so they would be one way conversations.

A Harbinger might be more likely to speak to a landmark or environmental phenomenon.

A Harbinger who creates a storm might wish to, say, harvest the glass from its lightning strikes; or to water the local plant life, or to drive out invasive species - their goals are long-term, focused on significant changes to environmental and ecological conditions.
