...So this is it. Haru's not sure what she'd been expecting from a talk to one of the - Arcana, now, she supposes. She's not in a hurry to sit down, and she doesn't entirely trust that drink after recent events - it's a perfectly good cup of wine, she's logically sure, but still...
Quietly, tense, she paces around the room and examines the details. Better try and keep calm until its owner shows up...
The veil is the most notable detail beside the chair and chalice, heavy brocade, purple and gold and red and blue most prominent in its colors, but there are also pale blues and dark greens, orange traceries thinner than the rest, and places where fine threads woven tightly together seem to blend into one another and make many of the colors in-between.
The chair appears to be real gold, the figures feminine, with unreadable faces, their features sketched in a suggestion of line to shallow to convey expression.
The chalice is ornate, its surface suggesting feathers and scales with eyes peering out between them.
Instead, she traces fingers over the sculptured figures in the chair, and heads to see if she can hear anything behind the veil. Quite lovely work, all of it, but if anything's happening here it's behind there.
... if there's one thing that is going to put her on guard in a hurry, it's seeing a doppelganger out of nowhere. That's not her reflection, especially not with that voice.
"I've had experience investigating the unusual," she says with a levelly polite tone. "Would I be correct in assuming I'm addressing my ..." captor- "host? Or hostess, as it may be."
Well, she can't say she's entirely surprised. Empress would make sense, but this doesn't look particularly... imperial? Hmm. She starts to mentally slip her 'young businesswoman' front on, for all her heart's finding its way into her throat.
"I'd been wondering when we would have the chance to meet. "

"That didn't take long," her reflection says, in an amused, smoky contralto that doesn't sound like her at all.
